LATISSE® for Beautiful Lashes
LATISSE® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription eyelash enhancement product indicated to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes. By increasing the eyelash growth, including length, thickness, and darkness, LATISSE® can bring out the beauty in your eyes. Enjoy stunningly long eyelashes that are real.
Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or short, thin eyelashes. LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of the growth phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs.
The product was discovered by ophthalmologists treating patients with glaucoma. What they observed was a consistency in the growth of thicker, longer and darker eyelashes in patients using medicine drops. As a result, a commercial formulary was produced from the original compound and a brush-on application of LATISSE® was created. Certain eye conditions and allergies need to be considered before using LATISSE®.
