Katherine A. Macoul, MD, MBA, is a board-certified ophthalmologist. Dr. Macoul received her bachelor of science and medical degree from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed an internship at Georgetown University and her residency in ophthalmology at George Washington University.
She has previously served as a consultant to the Ophthalmology Department at Walter Reed Medical Center, and as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown and George Washington Universities.
Dr. Macoul was the chief of the Department of Surgery and Chief of Medical staff at Town and Country Hospital from 2008 through 2016. Dr. Macoul enjoys mission travel and has served in Africa, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. She joined forces with The Eye Institute of West Florida in 2017 and is now practicing at their new Westchase location in Tampa.
Dr. Macoul lives in Tampa. She is a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer, and enjoys outdoor activities such as scuba diving, skiing, running and swimming.
