We are now offering virtual visits for patients in need of eye care.
The Eye Institute remains committed to safeguarding our patients, staff and community during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. If you need us we are here for you.
Patients are able to have a virtual appointment with select providers during Florida’s mandated “Safer at Home” order.
Our virtual eye appointments are designed to not only care for our existing patients, but for new patients experiencing eye problems.
Call (727) 581-8706 or click to set up your virtual visit.
All virtual appointments are fully secure and HIPAA compliant to ensure you information is safe guarded. We use a telemedicine platform called Doxy.Me that is available on your computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone.
The telemedicine appointments offered through Doxy.Me have many benefits including:
- A virtual face-to-face visit with one of our providers from anywhere
- Eliminates the frustration of commuting
- Covered by many insurance providers
- No login, account creation, or app download required
- Ease of access to care
“I am very excited to offer continuity of care for my patients and establish rapport with new patients seeking guidance on their cataract surgery needs,” says Dr. Robert Weinstock, Director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery at The Eye Institute of West Florida. “We’ve set up our telemedicine platform to be easy for you to use. No downloads, no accounts, just a simple web link sends you to a face-to-face visit with myself or one of the other physicians at the practice.”
Our telemedicine services include:
- Basic eye exams
- Dry eye and allergy assessments
- Cataract consultations
- Routine follow-up care
- Prescription refills
We understand how important your eyes are and that is why The Eye Institute of West Florida is at the forefront of adopting this new technology. “Some patients simply cannot wait until the coronavirus pandemic is over to address concerns with their eyes. Vision is so precious to all of us and that is why we are offering this new way for patients to interact with our eye doctors,” enthuses Dr. Weinstock.
Please note that if you are experiencing pain with or without nausea, sudden loss of change in vision, you should schedule an in-office appointment immediately. Call (727) 581-8706 to schedule.
