Our Staff

The physicians at The Eye Institute value our patients' time and work efficiently to see everyone as scheduled. By employing highly trained staff, our physicians can provide quality care in the friendliest atmosphere without compromising results.

The Eye Institute offers some of the most experienced Optometric Physicians in Florida. Their expertise and dedication have earned them national recognition as leaders in their field.  Optometrists work with patients and our physicians in diagnosing conditions, prescribing eyewear and referring diseases and disorders to the appropriate specialist within our practice for the highest level of care.

At The Eye Institute we utilize Physician Assistants (PAs) to aid in the care of patients. Our Physician Assistants are Florida licensed and act under the direct supervision of our doctors. In addition to being highly educated, they frequently perform clinical rotations in surgery assisting physicians and advancing their knowledge and training. Services performed by our PAs include screenings, pre-operative physicals, and non-emergencies evaluations.

Most diagnostic procedures are performed by an Ophthalmic Technician (COA) who are specifically trained in their respective positions within The Eye Institute of West Florida. They undergo rigorous training before certification is earned from The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). The Eye Institute of West Florida is an ophthalmic facility where patients are cared for by knowledgeable and well trained friendly staff.

Our Patient Advocates, also referred to as the “ladies in red coats”, welcome visitors to The Eye Institute daily. Our goal is to make our patients feel like family and what better way to accomplish this than with a person dedicated to the patient experience. Our Patient Advocates are always there with a warm friendly smile assisting guests, providing fresh coffee and cookies, answering questions and being sure each guest to our facility is comfortable.
