Front Office

The Eye Institute of West Florida is seeking an individual with a medical office background, excellent data entry and customer service skills, a personable demeanor with a 'smiling' face, and professional yet friendly telephone manners. Knowledge of current insurance procedures is desired. Attention to detail, and most importantly, working with the public a must. Experience in an optical/ophthalmic setting a plus but not required. Ophthalmic Technicians

Does Medical Technology excite you? Would you like to be part of a healthcare team dedicated to improving vision for its patients? The Eye Institute of West Florida, located in Largo just minutes from the beautiful beaches, is one of the largest and most respected eye care practices in the country. We are seeking energetic individuals with a mature attitude to fill the role of optometric/ophthalmic technician at our Largo location.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable person with a dedicated attitude who seeks a fast-paced environment in a muti-specialty ophthalmology practice.

Summary Job Description: Preliminary work-up of patients, including detailed medical history, refraction and testing; other clinical duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: High School graduation; related (ophthalmic or optometric) experience preferred but will train the right person. Excellent communication, both written and spoken, and customer service skills; neat and legible handwriting, pleasant personality. Certification a plus!

Patient Services

Part-time Patient Services person needed for medical office. The primary responsibility is to greet and welcome patients to the practice.  Responsibilities also include brief education of the many services we offer that may be of interest to them, and to bridge communication between patients and medical staff during busy times of the day to help expedite wait times. Other duties include assisting patients with paperwork and offering coffee and cookies.

Starting pay is $9 per hour. Part timers receive reduced holiday pay, paid personal time along with many discounts on all the products and services we offer. The ideal person for this role is someone who is not afraid to approach strangers in a friendly and welcoming manner; someone who takes a genuine liking to people of all age groups and who naturally expresses greetings with a smile. This position has successfully been filled with people with previous backgrounds in banking or customer-service and who possess an understanding of professional courtesy. Very mature and responsible people would enjoy this position.
