The Eye Institute of West Florida Looks Back on 40 Years

In the Fall 2015 edition of Pinellas Health Care News, Dr. Stephen Weinstock discusses what differentiates The Eye Institute of West Florida from general ophthalmic practices, stating, “Our physicians are accomplished ophthalmologists with subspecialty training in all the major areas of ophthalmology…When a new patient comes in, the examining physician will quickly determine why it is he or she can’t see the way they like. If it’s just a simple matter of prescribing glasses, we can do that. But if there is a disease process, we subspecialize in all the different ocular conditions, including glaucoma; retina diseases, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy; and cataracts, as well as refractive treatments, including LASIK; and oculoplastic surgery, such as blepharoplasty and eyelid surgery.”

The article features one of Dr. Weinstock’s patients, who recently had cataract surgery and was discussing the procedure with her visiting son and daughter-in-law prior to her scheduled surgery. Upon informing them that Dr. Stephen Weinstock would be performing her surgery, they instantly knew that their mother had made the right decision as they informed her that Dr. Weinstock performed both of their LASIK procedures in 1999…and they are still enjoying 20/20 vision!
